Which Thobe Fabric Should You Choose?

Choosing the right thobe fabric depends on the end garment category, target market, and price point:

For premium retail thobes sold in Gulf boutiques, TR fabric with high viscose content (65%+) and soft-hand finish delivers the drape and surface sheen that end consumers expect. GSM of 180–200 is standard for this segment.

For school uniforms and institutional thobes, TC fabric offers better durability, colorfastness after repeated washing, and lower cost per meter. A 65/35 TC in 150–180 GSM is the most common specification.

For modern casual and active-wear thobes, TR+spandex stretch fabric at 160–180 GSM provides the freedom of movement and shape retention that younger consumers prefer.
